Well this is thread number one for me so here I go!
Well this will have a lot of parts to this. Most of the thread will be focused on Sasuke's new eye. In the latest set of spoiler pre release pages, this eye was called the Straight Tomoe by Madara. There's some confusion about the translation but I think it's right, people are wondering about the name of Sasukes eye the Straight Tomoe.
Madara said that sasuke had the same straight tomoe but madaras rinnegan is quite different. But, they would have the same if madara had his other rinnegan. We haven't seen left or right eye techniques from the rinnegan. With just one eye obito and madara have been able to perform many different jutsus (eg. Preta Path, Six paths, rinnetensei, etc). So why would madara be so intent on obtaining both? Somehow I doubt it's asymetriphobia... Its because he needs both rinnegan to obtain the straight tomoe eye, which might be necessary now for the eye of the moon since the tree is no more. The other requirement of this power has to be the power of the Shinju (the tree) look at the people who had the straight tomoe, Kaguya and sasuke (kaguya ate of the fruit containing the chakra of Shinju and sasuke obtaining the chakra and power of the jinchuriki of the juubi). But the sage had all the requirements for this eye. Except he has not shown the sharingan. It's possible he might have had it but he hasn't shown it. But I think it's deeper than the sharingan... Think of Indra's will and spirit. The mother, kaguya seemed to have the same will and desires of Indra. Sasuke and madara had his spirit. But Indra didn't have access to the Shinju and thus could not obtain the straight tomoe. The sage certainly didn't have the will/spirit of Indra and thus limited him.
Requirements for Straight Tomoe:
- Senju blood (for rinnegan) (could be obtained from sage[sasukes case])
- Uchiha blood (rinnegan)
- Indra will/spirit
- access to Shinju (chakra)
- two rinnegans
Now I would also say madara did not have this eye. Note the timing and terminology used. Sasuke appears, madara calls the eye a rinnegan, he says he has this (he does have a rinnegan). Naruto attacks and the tree is cut madara damaged. A person (kaguya) speaks to madara (I'm not going to spend a ton of time on this being kaguya there are plenty of threads about this and her silhouette is almost impossible to mistake, plus her connection to the shinju are close enough to make it extremely plausible). She tells him to absorb the tree, that it was time to become one (note this). Madara then seems to have an epiphany, but simply says "I see, the Shinju" (possibly hinting to the requirement of the Shinju for the Straight Tomoe) then after a bit madara NOW calls the eye the Straight Tomoe and says he has this which MADARA does not. But kaguya does. Awhile back I said note this: "it is time to become one" ~ kaguya. This is very likely a fusion of knowledge and will of kaguya and madara, we see this in his epiphany I mentioned earlier. Plus he changes his terminology of the eye and though madara does not have the eye kaguya did, thus clearing up the confusing claim that madara had the Straight Tomoe.
Rinbo (aka Limbo):
I also believe that rinbo is a technique requiring a rinnegan aaaaaannnnndddd the Shinju. Think about it, it can only be seen in the first place by sasuke and madara which have the eye of the juubi and the juubi inside of it respectfully. But also it can be damaged by, and sensed by senjutsu. Senjutsu is natural energy, the only way the juubi could be sensed was by naruto sage mode. The juubi has tons of connection to nature energy which I will not show really much more because threads of that are littered everywhere on NB.
So these are a lot of my thoughts. I'll most likely add more as I recall them and think more. Please understand that a lot of this is connections and thus some/most of this you might know. The more purpose of this was for connections and clearing confusion as well as a bit of theorizing.
Let me know what you think and if you want pics of evidence let me know. Thanks for reading
