First of thank you to everyone who gave me advice on which pokemon to choose. I remember playing pokemom red on the original game boy and it's amazing to see how far it's come in graphics.

That being said, is there a way for me to trade my pokemon from heart gold to pokemon X? I still have my old DS too?

There's a way. You won't need your old DS, you need Pokebank, it's a 3ds app. It costs 5 dollars though :/

You have transfer them but sadly idk how to do, I transfer pokemon from diamond/pearl to black2/white2 to x/y hopefully someone knows and can help you

Can I still trade them from game to game tho?

You need the app, poke bank and transporter. They come together I believe or at least poke transport is free.

Unfortunately you have to switch cartridges a lot.

Just have the old game in your 3ds and then open poke transporter. Move your pokes over to poketranspoter (it stores the pokes), then go to pokebank, trade pokes from poketranspoter to pokeban, and then move the pokes from pokebank to pokemon X/Y (put pokemon X/Y in and then go to pokebank). Then you repeat the process.

I believe you can only transport so many pokes at a time, I think 30 not for sure.

If you mean trading from X to old Pokemon games like HG or Black, then no. If you mean trading from Pokemon X to other Pokemon X's or Pokemon Y, then yes. Basically you can send Pokemon up from old games to X and Y, but once you do you can't send them back

Oh yeah. I forgot about that, yeah he'll need Black/White or Black 2/White 2.

No to both those scenarios actually. You'll need Pokemon Black, White or their sequels first,then you could only send them up to Pokemon X (though you can't ever send it back), sorry.

That blows. I didn't really like black because I couldnt find any of the first 300 and I didnt really like the pokemon in it, except for zebstrika. Thanks for your help tho!

Yea your going to need pokemon black/white or the squeals to be able to use pokebank and the transporter. :c

You can use the Poke-transfer to move from Gen4 to Gen5, and Pokebank from Gen5 to Gen6, but Pokebank costs 5$ per year. Not that much though.

Hi, i dont have ds or 3ds but 1 day i was on play store and i see an app (dont remember the name) but that app you can create your pokemon and transfer to ds or 3ds , i dont exactly remember that ap is for ds or 3ds but on play store coments are good.
