A new Nintendo Direct presentation will be streamed on Tuesday, April 8th, focusing exclusively on the new Super Smash Bros. 4 for Wii U and 3DS, Nintendo have announced.

I'm hoping for a legitimately modern Nintendo character and not just some more reused characters from Brawl or outdated characters from like 6 years ago.

Some new stuff please, I don't want Brawl 2, I want a new game.

I disagree, I do support they try to make the game more balanced by cutting off the power of some skills or the other way around, but i want every single Brawl character, except for R.O.B. maybe... but i don't want new characters if this means they are going to skip most of the old ones...

So what you want is Brawl 2.0 not a new game. That's b a d.

No, don't send me to play Brawl because of your personal opinion, every game tends to maintain most of the old characters when a second title is released.

And the same logic has been applied to the Super Smash Bros saga, every character from the Nintendo 64 version hasn't been removed in the others two games they released, in Melee the only characters that lose their slot in Brawl were Pichu (who had Pikachu's Moveset), Mewtwo (similar to Lucario), and Roy (similar to Marth).

But I cannot confirm every Brawl character is going to be part of the upcoming fourth game, but according to the official page, most of them have been already confirmed.

but they added so many new relevant characters as well as barely changing the old roster, this one isn't. It's not delivering at all on new characters.

They said the upcoming game will have about the same character roster that Brawl had, probably some more. There are only 28 characters confirmed so far.

My point is be patient, there are a few month left until the game is released.

Yeah I am genuinely happy to see some returning fighters though. Sonic and Zero Suit Samus especially are nice surprises. I just hope some of these final additions are more modern or relevant, because there IS a severe lack of that right now.

I know I would buy the game, even if the next five characters were Togepis in several different colors...

I said i didn't believe the fact that the next new characters will determine if you buy the game or not. I think you are a big fan of the games and the new characters, whether they are from new games or old, is just an irrelevant detail compared to what we have seen from the game till now.

And yeah I love Brawl with my heart but to me it really is. I really want to warrant spending £40 on a new game, not just something that is essentially Brawl 3DS, which is a game i've already played. To me the roster in any fighting game is pivotal. I know there are people who disagree ofc but that's how it's always been for me. (Which is why I love Storm series & Soul Calibur lol HUGE rosters)

This is my personal wishlist, I made this back in November so it's outdated as hell and it's not a likely list (third party characters yaaaaay)- just a idealised bingo card lol. Guess I can cross a few off now, maybe i'll win a prize.

Although there is one character that if they added i'd immediately buy the game so i'm not entirely resistant to impulsiveness.

So there's only one new character not shown yet...that's not going to cut it. If this is real and legit then....then i'm passing on this generation of Smash- to me that's a joke.
