the officer will betray the police task force and join the kira side... if all 3 misa kira and KS died that officer kira becomes the new kira... and he does nothing he is only an extra officer kira you can say... and he dosent have a choice, he will be modkilled if he starts whining. simple as that.

and between when misa choose one to convert one player it will be announced and posted so everyone can know... so think twice before you trust someone

Whilst i'm loving the new roles I am fearing that the amount of roles is a bit overwhelming. This game is set to be a big awesome one but in the future maybe it'd be nice to select a handful (4-5) special roles that'll be active in this game.

think about it this way.... 1 player in kira side... which means 1 extra vote for kira side sake... that is very good for kira to be honest... and lets ssay you trusted somebody but then he backstabs you since he got seduced to the other side.... the environment of the game changes... but will have to think twice of the player they trust.

Yes Kira can kill someone on their side.
No. The shinigami can only betray if he found out who Kira is them self.
