Here's something most people have forgotten that can be done with Kurama and the rasengan. I mean sure, rasengan explodes and drills into someone while Kurama give incredible speed and power, but here's something interesting about them.
In the first example, Naruto was hit dead on by a fire-style, yet the flames were dispersed with Naruto completely untouched when he was forming the rasengan. This demonstrates that rasengan, to a certain extent, can defend against ranged attacks. In other words, a rasengan user, for the most part, cannot be kept at bay and can merely plow through ranged attacks until they can smash it into their opponent.
In the second example, Kurama's chakra also protects against ranged attacks as a shield and can be used offensively as a shockwave. Now, here's the interesting thing. I have a feeling that this is how KCM Naruto protected himself against tenpenchi and Madara+Obito's fire style despite its crappy durability feats in other cases.
Think about it, this has to be what KCM Naruto did at least with the flames. He's shown vulnerability in KCM, so how did he tank these? I think he used a chakra shield off-panel. Just thought I'd share this with you guys.
