Yes because he had to consume chakra to keep it growing. It is stated at one moment but I'm just too lazy now to search for it XD

The reason Madz became more powerful is because tye shinju absorbed ****loaf of chakra after Obito relased it, Madara absorbed it and got all the chakra as well, not to mention the flower had bloomed

No, the shinju had 0 power when it was inside Obito, when Madz absorbed it, the shinju had already absorbed tons od chakra from the SA

I guess I forgot about that, I don't know if that would equal up to much of a powerup though tbh. There has to be more to the tree than just some bonus chakra.

If the tree had any power left it would have bloomed, and IT would be cast.



Now, the sentience of the juubi is irrelevent. If it wasn't Kaguya who fought Obito when he became the jinchuriki, it would have to be the Juubi. If it was the Juubi, Madara should have encountered some resistance from it.
