FTG can only be countered by Rinnegan or a very powerful Sage mode w/Rinnegan.. FTG is that powerful. Hiruzen possessed neither. Hiruzen is like the strongest regular ninja.

Ftg can be countered, its a kunai any shinobi with great weapons proficiency can knock it away, the shinobi minato have bested with ftg don't use weapons such as obito and A, and minato ftg excels when fighting large groups so no one person can hone in on him. Hiruzen is a master of all forms of shinobi combat so that includes weapons he can easily knock the kunai away.

Wrong, you don't need to counter ftg, it doesn't do damage, you need to be able to counter the tech that follows, in minato's case it will be a rasengan.
