Well we have to wait and see the differences between the version of rinnegan that madara/so6p/nagato had than the one that has sasuke.

OR its simply a Sharingan and a Rinnegan at the same time, and Madara had two Sharingan and two Rinnegan if you were paying attention, but he had to switch back and forth to use their powers.

Sasuke's eyes just let him use both at the same time without having to switch, it really isn't that complicated.
