Whats the point of sasuke trying to become Hokage?, let alone staying in the Village?

I dont understand why kishimoto made sasuke turn good and on top of that make him try to become Hokage, No one acknowledges him, they all lost respect for him, in the village, except for naruto and sometimes sakura, even if sasuke and naruto do fight for Hokage (Which everyone seems to want) their still not gonna let sasuke become hokage even if he does win, just in the recent chapter Garra said, "When you become hokage lets drink sake together" to Naruto.

Also sasuke still has hate, for some reason, when they were fighting obito and he saved naruto, he said, "ill be the one to erase the past" so i really dont understand, why kishimoto made him help naruto in the first place, both fights wont make any sense at this point, and when i say (Both fights) i mean, some people are wondering if they are going to "Fight to the death" or "Fight for Hokage", but neither fights make sense because of the talk with the sage of the six paths, about them changing the destiny of the world and etc and "For the fight for hokage", like i said before even if sasuke wins (Which is very unlikely) they still wouldent let him become hokage, so wants the point

I agree with you, I can't see a situation where Konoha would accept Sasuke over Naruto as Hokage. He has good intentions, wants to fix the mistakes of the past, etc. But he also joined Akatsuki, attacked the Kage Summit, etc.

The best-case scenario for him would be if the elders consider him more worthy than Naruto for some crazy reason. But he won't over be accepted by the village over Naruto.

Inevitably, Naruto will be Hokage.

I'm with you. It just looks like Kishimoto wanted to make up an excuse for them to fight, but even if they do, it's pointless. Like you said Sasuke won't be elected Hokage even if he does win against Naruto.

So, I think Kishi is going to make Sasuke want to change the village by force. He and Taka might try to take over the village soon.

He did say he wanted to "burn" everything, so he might try to destroy the leaf village and rebuild it as his own village.

OT: The people who started arguing all of a sudden, the OP didn't bash Sasuke or anything, he just asked a legit question. So I don't see why you should get all worked up about it.

Tbh Naruto will most likely be the person to be Hokage. Or, who knows, maybe for once in history there are two Hokages that co-exist. Maybe Kishi has them want to fix Madara's and Hashirama's mistake and have them work together as leaders of the Leaf. Not sure, though. Honestly I've haten Sasuke thus far, but I love the Uchiha & kinda hate how Madara was denied Hokage-ship before. I think it's right that an Uchiha becomes an Hokage for once...especially after Itachi's sacrifice for the village.

To make up for the mistakes of past kages and set up a way to keep Sasuke and Naruto's rivalry going
