I always wonder where these 3 things come from.

They are very powerful and IMO can be said to be on par or even greater than the Gin and Kin brothers' SO6P's tools.

I guess that those 3 weapons come from Hagoromo's brother. Kishi may tell us more about him in the future. I bet Hagoromo's brother had some legacies and among them are those 3 things apart from him theoretically being the ancestor of Uzumaki and Hyuuga.

What do you think of their origin?

Yata definitely surpasses gin & kin's tools.

As for their origins, they're most likely related to the sage in some way due to their power.

A better question would be where did Itachi obtain his tools.

Maybe South Africa :|

Lol Totsuka is one of the most powerful sealing items and Yata is a super badass protection weapon, Kusanagi can extend until you're body is in half so the only possibility is that someone with great chakra source and great understanding would have get them, i think that Uzumaki has something with them since they're specialized with Sealing jutsus.

Totsuka and Yata are fixated with Susano-Ō; back tracking the genealogy it [Sharingan Jutsu] all sprang from the Jūbi. Examining it's mythological rudiments, that is, the Jūbi or 'Ippon-datara' it is thought to be a large human-like beast with one leg and one eye. It is also rumored to be an expert blacksmith, or perhaps the ghost of one.

If you require further detailing on the idea; have a look at Douryoku's Acquisition:[ ]

I already made this thread. My theory was that either Indra and Ashura made and used them or the Uzumakis did since they are sealing weapons and the yata mirror bears the uzumaki symbol. They being Hagoromo's brothers' and thus the counter parts to his tools is a good theory too.

IMO they were created by the Elder Son. The things created by Hagoromo become physical objects, so the Elder Son who has the power to create form out nothing being responsible for creating ethereal weapons sounds really convincing. :hint:

That's an interesting idea. But I wonder why Itachi would have them if Sasuke is Indra's reincarnation and Indra is the original creator of those spirit weapons. Unless its like the sword of Nunobuku in which you only need to have the Juubis chakra to be able to reproduce it (or Itachi's eyes could allow Sasuke to recreate them).

I strongly believe The Yata and Totsuka came from a divine universe like heaven and such. Both weapons are classified as "ethereal", "spiritual" and "supernatural" and are the only ones in the Naruto-verse that have those categorizations. In other words, these aforementioned spirit weapons originally existed outside of planet Naruto. I believe the God or gods in that unknown world purposely opted to either transfer the weapons to Naruto territory, or they've accidentally lost grasp of the them, resulting in the weapons appearing in the Naruto world.

Indra's power was passed down through his descendants. Some believe these are actually items, others believe that they are simply rare susanoo armaments. It could have been fate though, so that the power may have dwelled in Itachi's eyes simply for Sasuke to obtain it later ( brothers as spares)

If you base it on mythology Amaterasu (Sasuke) had in her possession a bow, the yasakani magatama, the mirror of yata, and the sword kusanagi.
Sasuke's sword is a Kusanagi
The orb of flames his susanoo wields is the shape of the yasakani magatama
Sasuke's susanoo also wields a bow

All thats left is the mirror

That would be cool for Sasuke to have PS and Yata Mirror. His defensive capabilities would be only second to Juubi Jins.

Yep, a formless shield that deflects all elements is the perfect defense for Sasuke to compete with Naruto

This is the correct answer.
