Hashirama was revived in his prime, Young and Powerful. Now, of all villages during his generation, who was strong enough to defeat him? Who wa shis deathmathc?

Its obvious he didn't die of old age.

Maybe he committed Seppuku?

Another theory is, after defeating Madara, Hashirama was also at his last breath. Same situation with Ashura and Indra.
Parallels to how Naruto, stated if he and Sasuke fight, they both will die.

This means Asura and Indra is linked for balance (yin and yang),if one dies the other will also die. They will die within the same time frame and transmigrate at the same time frame. This explain why, there's a huge gap in years why Asura didn't transmigrate because Madara was still alive, which halted the transmigration. After Madra died (Obito flashback), the transmigration cycle began. Indra will always born first and Asura after.

Just a thought, discussed.

My theory is that the fight with madara was so brutal that he never completely recovered from his injuries. In other words, he wasn't quite as strong after the vote fight with madara, which would have made him a little easier to beat.

Makes no sense Hashirama had bad*** healing jutsu's plus Sage Mode how could he have stayed all injured

Actually it makes perfect sense. First of all, hashirama's healing isn't omnipotent-he can still be injured. Second of all, Madara stated it was similar to Tsunade's jutsu-and we know her jutsu shortens her life span. Now obviously Hashirama has a strong body like you said, but the fight with Madara was the most devastating 1 on 1 fight we have seen in the manga thus far, and I can't but help but think he got affected by it-mentally as well as physically.

He died of Plot Disease, the same disease that killed Itachi, Kimmimaro and Shin.

I'm guessing then that Tobirama became Hokage, and the rest of the villages decided to stomp on the leaf village, because the 1st shinobi world war had Tobirama as Hokage, not Hashirama.
The villages clearly dont look nicely on a village without a Kage, because the sand village was afraid of a war when Gaara was captured.

Good theory, but I do actually think that he died of old age, cos even if he was weakened he was still far too powerful for someone to bring him down. Or maybe he sacrificed himself like Tobirama?
