No, Kaguya, using her byakugan, saw the fruit, climbed the tree, ate the fruit, over the years, her power bloomed so much she started becoming corrupted, the more corrupt she became the more powerful, it was shown that she could control the weather, the Juubi did the same thing. Anyway, eventually, the fruit caused her to mutate into the Juubi, she began running rampant destroying everything, eventually her sons stopped her, her body was sealed into the moon, while her chakra was split into the tailed beasts. And then, when Obito became Juubi Jin, the Juubi(Kaguya was moving and speaking through him, he was able to overcome her. Eventually, he sprouted the Shinju (Kaguya's body) when the tree began to blossom, her eye appeared. As Madara became Juubi Jin, last chapter, Kaguya told him to become one again.

Yumi said the tree might have a deal with her, so she not dealing with mortals, maybe she dealing with some other gods
It appears its a lot more than just huge tree. It is indeed a godtree

...other gods..uuuuhhh. Then if thats the case, the story would have to go into a WHOLE other explanation about gods and whatnot...I really dont see that happening.

I don't think or expect kishi care to explain, just like madara's eyeless rinnegan or indra's ms/ems. Kishi too lazy and not so thoughtful

I have thoery on that too

Indra was born with the Sharingan. He himself had nobody from the get go and he knew he was different, also, his power was so close to his mothers so he was seeped in darkness quite easily. It takes a uchiha several tramuas to get to the mental state Indra was in. As for a eyeless Rinnigan..maybe Madara was always able to absorb chakra? LOL

I got a theory on that too. Maybe madara is so special that he doesn't need any eye to do all dojutsu except the rinbo that solo all biju XD
