Yes, that is a bit strange. And Hagoromo said Kaguya had the Sharingan. In both cases (Kaguya and Sasuke) it looks like the combined Sharingan-Rinnegan eye that the Juubi has.

I thought it's a bit strange Sasuke gets that from Hagoromo who didn't have it himself. I rather expected Madara to get this eye after absorbing the tree/Kaguya.

the different rinnegan & Sharingan is colour.. sharingan(Red) & Rinnegan(Purple)....Kaguya eye is sharingan(red) declared by horogomo.. same with juubi, is a sharingan(red) because it is use to make genjutsu which its the basic power of sharingan..
BUT NOW, Sasuke now got NEW TYPE of RINNEGAN(PURPLE) bcoz his Rinnegan with Tomoe..which is not posses by kaguya or juubi..s
so just ready for new power..
