It's been said time and time again that 8th gates will result in death. Kishi made us think he was going to die for chapters now (yes flashbacks usually forshadows a persons defeat in this manga). Just to say "nope" He's fine sorry for wasting your time with flashbacks that could have been used on the fighting.

I look at it this way, Naruto said one day he would change everything and he already has started to do that. Guy stated the 8th gate means death but we knew Kishimoto would show it. He managed to not only show it, but use it to show Naruto now does have an ability to change things.

Gaara was dead but with Naruto's help Chiyo brought him back to life.

Naruto is defying facts just like he said he would because his belief is he can make anything happen.

If it were always (and I know you said usually) the case then Tsunade, Gaara, Ay, Sasuke, Naruto, Kakashi, Lee, etc. would all be dead. In reality there's just a lot of flashbacks in Naruto, people started to assume that a flashback=a character's death without realizing almost every character gets a flashback.

Flashbacks are just there to add to the story, which is more important than the action.

Problem is Gai is now going to suffer intense pain for the rest of his days...Nice going Naruto,you've effectively subjected Gai to a life filled with agony.

Did Kishi give you advanced copies of Naruto? Or do you have powers to see into the future? Because if it's neither of those then you're just making assumptions.

Naruto literally just saved him from death. For all you know once he's done with Madara, he'll go and regenerate Gai's body back to full health.

No he can't,any self respecting writer knows better than to blatantly break the rules of his/her setting.Kishi could turn Naruto into a manga about crappy romance stories,huge ass mechs,or anything else but that does'nt mean he should.

That's not breaking rules though, especially if he made them. If he made them, he can change them. May not be the best thing and you don't have to like it, but he did it and you can't stop him. All the complaining in the world wont stop anything.

How is saving someone's life selfish? It's selfish that you want him to die just because the 8 gates is "supposed" to make him die.

That's not breaking rules though, especially if he made them. If he made them, he can change them. May not be the best thing and you don't have to like it, but he did it and you can't stop him. All the complaining in the world wont stop anything.

That just makes it bad writing then.If a writer says X technique is dangerous but then goes "lol,nope just kidding" then that just removes the point of introducing such a thing.

That just makes it bad writing then.If a writer says X technique is dangerous but then goes "lol,nope just kidding" then that just removes the point of introducing such a thing.

Also you act like a writer can do anything he/she wants when it's not the case.They have to answer to editors and publishers which Kishi does.

Any other time I could honestly be upset about this, especially with something like the Rinne Tensei, but given the level Naruto is on now, it's really not that bad of writing and doesn't ruin the story as much as people would like to believe. If it does, then that's unfortunate for you.

And while yes, he does have people to answer to, it's still his series. And even the people he has to answer to are apparently okay with the things he's doing. And if not and their the ones guiding the story, then they're the ones people should be mad at.

Just because he wanted to use a suicidal technique doesn't necessarily mean that he wanted to die without giving a crap about having the possibility of being saved somehow. It wasn't implied or shown as far as I know so maybe Gai might be grateful that Naruto saved him because he would still be there to teach Lee and Ten Ten and more. Yeah of course. Naruto gets a god power up but doesn't use it to save Gai makes total sense lmao. You people are so angry.
