Seriously, people need to stop blaming the manga for their own shortcomings. It's getting ridiculous. People use the word 'plothole' at the drop of a hat, and 97.5% of the time it's a mess up on their part. This is just another example.

No explanation whatsoever.

In the anime, however, the two are shown killing two guys when Itachi says they eventually unlocked the Mangekyou.

But manga > anime, when it comes to determining what's canon.

Lol you're a clown. Madara and Izuna both had MS at that point in time. Reread the manga

When his brothers died he only had 1T Sharingan. Izuna was his last living brother and he had MS before he died so he couldn't have gotten it by seeing his brothers die

well Madara an Izuna weren't the only siblings. It was mentioned in the Hashi/Maddy flashback the both had like 4 siblings total wasn't it? Maybe their deaths are what awoke his and Izuna's MS or maybe something with his dad?

when you see the episode titled Itchai Vs Sasuke on youtube, Itachi told sasuke about the Mangekyuo Sharingan and how madara took his brother's eyes you will see where he showed sasuke how the Madara and Izuna Uchiha both trained and killed family members that where closest to them to achieve the MS and became leaders of Uchiha. Check it out, its not a plot hole

I didn't know people could be so stupid....he lost all his brothers besides Izuna before he met Hashirama. He only had 1 tomoe Sharingan at that point. And way later on he got MS, some time before Izuna died. They both had it unlocked.

However, manga showed Izuna with MS as well.
