as shown in the Kaguya Decendant tree, Hagoromo's brother isn't Uzumaki... but the Origins of Uzumaki Clan lies within him. (his children are Hyuga and Uzumaki)
First i'd like to say that this is just a theory of mine, that i came up with... so i'm not basing this on any facts what so ever. only logically thoughts that came to my mind while analyzing the manga.
Uzumaki Clan is the origin of Sealing Techniques.
and i believe that the Origin of Uzumaki Clan lies within Hagoromo's Brother.
let me tell you why, i'll explain!
The legends say that Dead Demon Consuming Seal is a Sealing Technique developed by the Uzumaki Clan.

however, here's the thing... i believe that when Hagoromo and his brother were fighting the juubi...
Hagoromo's brother sacrificed himself to his mother by using the (Dead Demon Consuming Seal)
why do i believe this? well simply because:

which means that his brother also got half of Juubi...
when i realized that Hagoromo said this...
i was thinking of exactly what Minato did in order to seal half the Kyuubi inside of Naruto?
and half of Kyuubi inside of himself... does it rings a bell?
Since Kurama's chakra was too immense to be sealed within an infant like Naruto, Minato first used the Dead Demon Consuming Seal to separate and seal its Yin half within himself and then prepared the Eight Trigrams Seal to imprison the Yang half within Naruto.

The sealing formula is used to seal any target into a human body or an object, and is mainly used when a giant enemy (Juubi) or evil spirit needs to be sealed away. i think that Hagoromo's brother did the exact same thing in order to erase this monster from the world...
as well that he wanted to save the world of course. thus sacrificing himself for the future of humanity of NarutoVerse.

Viz translation isn't 100% accurate so i will leave this theory open for awhile...
however i still believe all of this, except for that Juubi was separated.

But, if the Yoroshiro is a person (medium) that person is called a Yorimashi, if a divinity possesses the individual it is called Kamigakari.
Kamigakari is the precursor of Kagura, the mask ritual dance that gives honor to the Kamis:

Thats actually a really nice idea youve got there. Im in hope that when the talk goes down between madara and kaguya that the uzumaki clan would be mentioned in some way.
The death reaper also looks like the masks at the uzumaki shrine.
