yeah we saw the one tail get his ass kicked by kid naruto and we have seen the 8 tail get taken down by both sasuke and kisame...and we saw half of the nine tails beat number 2-6 so yes we have seen that they are weaker

All of the tail beast have some specialize element ability but the 1st half and the 2nd half of tail beast have one alter type of element most even have a mix of element (i.e. Son's lava style, which is a mix of fire/earth or Shukaku's Sand style, which is a mix of earth/wind) ; Shukaku(wind), Matatabi(fire), Isobu(water), Son Gokū(earth); Kokuō(earth), Saiken(water), Chōmei(wind), Gyūki(lightening) but kishi didn't give kurama any specialize element he gave him something different; he gave him a Mix of Light and Dark; Ying and Yang; Life and Power; as we've seen throughout the series once Naruto was able to control Kurama Charka he was able to effect nature it's self causing life to be created, he was able to sense Darkness, and he was also able to give everyone a huge Power boost. I believe his Element power is ying/yang itself the ability to create and empower
