Stopping BIS was Blackberry's downfall! I remember couple of years ago everywhere you go you saw blackberry, now very few people have it!

BlackBerry's real downfall was their inability to keep up with the latest specs and OS developments, which is why Android and iOS are at the top of the industry right now, leaving BlackBerry behind.

BIS still work fine in my country, infact it is still the most used phone JS.
I like to think their "fail" is their battery half-life.
