How did Hidan achieve an S-rank without ANYONE being aware of his Immortality/Ritual? Kinda hard to believe that no one had any idea about his powers, but he was a known S-rank criminal, if no one knew about his powers how the hell was he S-rank?



Also Hidan has a 5 in Ninjutsu in the databooks; for only his ritual?

Him taking out the 2 tails seems like a good enough reason. The Akatsuki were a stupidly secret organisation remember and if there's anything Shippuden has taught me it's that rank means nothing.

Well it is possible that the reason nobody knew of his immortality is because of the fact that everybody who has fought him or seen him in action probably ended up not living to tell the story

Probably because everyone he used the ritual on died, thus they knew he was formidable for killing and capturing people, but no one he fought survived to tell the tale of his jutsu. Furthermore, he was a member of Akatsuki who captured the two tails and killed two fire shinobi guardians.

That's because he was supposed to be insanely skilled and powerful in bukijutsu like Sasori and Shurado, but the editors and publishers forced Kishimoto to rush him and his fights and leave his backstory in the databooks; probably because they wanted him to get to Sasuke vs. Itachi as fast as possible for their magazine ratings to skyrocket. His immortality jutsu also allowed him to live and regenerate even when his head and internal organs were compromised, as well as make himself into a voodoo doll.

Bukijutsu is weapons. Kunai, swords, needles, poisons, nunchuks, shuriken, morning stars, his scythe, his skewer, blade chains, puppets, etc.

Taijutsu is hand to hand combat/martial arts/grappling.
