Misconception: Madara is toying with Gai

Because he didn't have time to do anything, Madara kept saying FAST about Gai's speed. Plus once again he said "you almost kill me....bastard"

I like how Madara didnt drop a single sweat fighting against Gai. And as we know, in this Manga, like in most, sweat drops of any kind show that the character is either tired, worried, or is stressed mentally or physically. You would think that Madara would be heaving and sweating if he was sturggling so much, but no. not at all. UNLIKE the battle he had with hashirama in the past.

The dude was drooling blood, and a chunk of him was blown off earlier he had part of his headband destroyed, and had battle marks. And you say him not showing seat is a sign Madara is not struggling. Kishi probaby forgot or didn't care, Madara has a concerned look when he gets hit by the Elephant for the first time and is in concern/fear when he goes for the final hit of the elephant.

2) Cause he used the onmyoudon sphere to defend himself
3) He threw the black spheres at Gai.
4) He didn't tank. Tank implies to successfully resist or defend, Madara didn't do either.

He did try with those black shield thing and plus he couldn't do anything because of the speed and when Gai did evening elephant Madara says "I can't move"

Gai was just too fast, he said Gai's attacks are fast when he did the Evening Elephant and the Night Gai/Moth. He has tried to kill Gai during the Evening Elephant

I like how Madara was going serious, but he never even attempted a Rinnigan technique. He could have just frozen gai in place like he did to sasuke if he were serious. Lemme guess, his 8 gate aura would protect him form an unknown power? right.
