Here I'll try to prove in 5 points why in my opinion current Orochimaru should be able to enter SM.

1. We all know he trained in Ryuuchidou and mastered Senjutsu chakra gathering, but didn't have a body strong enough to enter SM.

2. We know that a human sacrifice is needed when using Edo Tensei. Also, the human sacrifice is a vessel for a soul and ashes and dust make change the appearance to that of a summonned person.

3. Hokage were brought back to life using Zetsu as sacrifices.

4. Both Minato and Hashirama could enter SM where in fact their bodies were Zetsu.

So basically, Edo chakra comes from their souls - that's why for example Edo Hashirama can use Mokuton, but the sacrificed bodies have to be strong enough for Edo zombies to utilize SM if they know it. Manga has already shown that Zetsu body is enough and that's why I strongly believe that current Orochimaru with already mastered Senjutsu chakra manipulation and gathering can surpsire us ​

EDIT: Just looked back on this and Tobirama proves that Orochimaru was just not as good at Edo Tensei as he is when he revives the Hokage's, the reason why Edo Hashi and Tobirama were not as powerful at the Hiruzen fight. Sorry my bad. ^^''

So yeah, the power of ET is based on the skill of the summoner rather than the skill of the sacrifice. Hashi and Minato can enter SM due to having access to their full powers. For Orochimaru to unlock SM he would need access to a better body possibly Zetsu could give him that kinda like how Spiral Zetsu and Black Zetsu did with Obito but its currently unknown just w/ a Zetsu clone.

The powers of the sacrifice has absolutely nothing to do with how strong the edo tensei will be. The edo tensei is revived with their own powers, nothing to do with the host's body.
