Back then I thought it's simply because he is a bad guy but after the truth was revealed and things changed the question was born: why he tortured so brutally his own comrade?

no he didnt. he could have used a clone and retreated, he could have incapactiated him with a physical blow to the neck, he could have used a distraction like a katon blast etc. i find it funny that itachis hyped to be a genius yet his big ideas for avoiding killing people are wasting chakra and putting people in comas.

itachi never ordered kisame to kill kakashi-he wanted to "take him in for questioning" or something like that. Plus, I am pretty sure he realised gai was on the way-which is why he ordered kisame to do it at that moment.(kisame never did anything unless itachi said so when they were together)

im sick of people saying "he had to" and "he had no choice". BULLSHIT.
if hes as fukin strong and smart as the manga hypes him up to be, he should have NO PROBLEM AT ALL taking down asuma kurenai and kakashi without harming a hair on their heads, and then stabbing kisame with totsuka to finish up.
the logic that he had to to maintain his "evil persona" is crap and does not fly.
