Last time i checked, throwing yourself off of a cliff to end your life probably isn't the best way to go about doing that?
Maybe i'm just being way too literal here but surely if we're to believe that Shisui was able to 'erase his existence' i was thinking more along the lines of him using some secret forbidden ninjutsu or something? surely someone would notice a floating corpse, or there would most definitely be some sort of remains in the river left behind. Thoughts?

Danzo took one of his eyes, then he gave the other to Itachi. Then he committed suicide. People saw his eyes had been ripped out so perhaps they were under the assumption that they had been destroyed.

There wasn't much he could do without eyes so it's likely he used the Body Elimination technique. Had he not done so, Shisui would have been an easy target and his corpse would be used to access all kinds of Uchiha secrets.

It's no different to how ANBU members dispose of themselves when they're on the verge of death.

its all still a plot hole.

but assumptions is that shisui pulled a anbu move which is leave no body behind or itachi or someone destroyed his body after his death
