I can relate to your point of view. However during the first reveal of Nagato, it said that "Those who awaken the rinnegan can destory or create", or something like that. So Madara is the Destroyer, Sasuke is the Creator, fits perfectly if you ask me.

Sasuke receiving the Rinnegan is unlikely as it is, naruto and sasuke represent Ashura and Indra. Each of them represent a half, naruto the yang and sasuke the yin. Sasuke receiving the Rinnegan would destroy this concept, seeing as how the Rinnegan is a result of Yin+Yang in one person. The whole point of the sage giving Sasuke a say in the fate of the world is that he realized that in order for peace to be achieved, both of his son's reincarnations have to work together(yin+yang).
