Well the asnwer is that Madara has obviously evolved into a higher being which has not use for things like a heart and lungs lol silly fans. madara only took that hit because he was never in any REAL danger at all so why not

However, Madara was incredibly lucky. Even he admitted that he should have died (it was 50/50), but fate was on his side this time.
