I can't believe it's sunk this low, ever since the timeskip this manga has progressively gotten worse and worse. Now it's all about who your dad is that dictates where you stand, excluding Lee and Gai. Oh? You're mid twenties, spend day and night trying to train to be your best? Well that kid's sixteen and has a body like a Sumo wrestler, but he's related to god, therefore you lose. There's no substance; all that this manga is comprised of is a lotta super Emo Zenkai, with some mass deep throating of Biju thrown in for good measure. That's it. The Kekkei Genkai are awesome, but if you don't have one, or aren't blessed with platinum chakra levels you may as well go crawl to a farm and pretend to be a sheep - because as far as the writer's concerned you're a fodder, and he's already forgotten your name as soon as he's put pencil to paper - similar to how he once forgot Konohameru ever existed.

It was at least cool when you had characters like Hashirama who had Kekkei Genkai, but could also use other techniques, not characters that only have as many as three barely diverse techniques to save their lives. But even now Kishi seems to have retconed the possibility that Hashi ever used anything that wasn't Mokuton.

Elemental ninjutsu is pointless. Genjutsu that isn't Uchiha branded is pointless. Taijutsu that isn't amped by gates is pointless. 'Raw' Ninjutsu is pointless. Just get a big blue rib cage and it'll solve all your problems.

Clan of a thousand skills? Mastered every Jutsu in Konoha? Copied a thousand techniques? Jutsu knowledge that's leagues above any living Shinobi? You'll never sniff fraction of it, because before borrowed power and Genetics, it's nothing.

This isn't even going into plot, or how he's ruined the characters of folk like Orochimaru and Kakashi.

Anyways on topic, that's just what happens in a lot of shonen manga inspired by DB. At the end of the story everyone but the few main characters with special bloodlines or fates or whatever becomes irrelevant.

I was gonna mention Hiatus X Hiatus. HXH is like how Naruto was in its prime.

Togashi and Kishimoto are horrible people, it has to be said.

I feel you have valid points but I also feel that there are thousands of things a writer constantly needs to keep in mind and maintain. Eventually the writer has to focus on specific plotlines in order to sufficiently progress the plot of his story. Things will get lost along the way, but its for the greater good of the manga.

You might be right here and there, in the beginning the fighting was more about being clever and and outsmart your enemy...now its just...Pacific Rim...well that's not entirely true. But I cant stop loving this show. it has its flaws but even so every wends day I get up early just to read Naruto =D

It's been a walk through Nerftown for many characters ever since Part 2, pretty much.

I'm surprised to see you're still kicking about.

By all means I understand that the plot needs focused after all the introductions are done, but as soon as part two began we get hit up with a prophecy out of nowhere. From there it became all about the Sage's descendants, and the KH11, and other character's whole developments were completely cast aside and forgotten. I'd rather he'd kept kept it concise and focused on a smaller cast rather than introducing a bunch of 2D featless chumps that I couldn't care about.

part 1 of the manga used to be amazing.. heck even early shippuden was fine.. when susano was revealed is when everything went downhill for me i guess..

remember when kakashi could only use raikiri like 3 times before he was bedridden :|

remember when a character like sasuke actually had to use handseals to perform chidori

the KKG was good however they made sharingan to... godlike...

3 tomo sharingan was great it gave the user an advantage as is what a KKG was meant for however it still meant the user had to be skilled since it didnt make them god...

kimimarou's bone KKG was awesome yet it didnt make him completely OP

i liked it when there was a bit of diversity to the fights

the ninja theme has just been completely lost in this manga

taijutsu is still awesome however most taijutsu is enhanced through ninjutsu.. 8 gates was the only way to enhance taijutsu without being able to use ninjutsu

the time when ninja weapons and strategy/tactics were at there best
