You're an idiot if you think Madara just simply "allowed" himself to be hurt. He was ACTIVELY defending and failing in doing so and plenty of panels showing his shock of what just happened. Only AFTER his move was over and he was safe and was healing was he laughing. He was NOT laughing while it was happening, in fact his face looked priceless. So Just stop, the door is over there.

He said he was the best taijutsu user he's ever seen, meaning that even if he knew of previous people who used 8 gates, they paled in comparison to his version because Gai trained way harder than any other user of the gates. fact of the matter is, Gai went full 8 gates, used his strongest attack, landed a full on direct hit, and did as much as Lee did just regular. I mean if Madaras not made of different material and still has bones and blood and that, Gaid shouldve been able to kick a hole through his chest. He gouged out the rock and didnt even touch the dirt, but he lands this barely rib breaking lovetap on Madara? Kishi made Gai look like a huge failure.

I was in the Army. Active at that. This kind of fight isn't a bar fight. To these characters it's more reasonable to compare it to a fire fight. Even the most psychotic war-lover would allow himself to be shot in the chest on purpose. If they missed vitals, and if the person was crazy enough, maybe they'd laugh if they knew the person was out of ammo and on the verge of death. That's the only thing I could compare it to. Based on reading facial expressions and what Madara himself said, he was concerned, and if Gai would have managed to strike him more accurately or just one more time Madara would be dead and everything he worked for would have been for not. The guy planned this out for several generations, I doubt he would risk death and spoiling all the thought he put into planning his perfect world.

OT: Gai stomps Madara in 8 Gates mode but unfortunately the cards didn't have him succeeding in finishing him off.
