Why Obito is not the best written character

He was truly interesting and Kishi should have shown more of how Obito's ideals were slowly changing than sloppily make Rin the reason for everything

Obito lacks sinister backstory that strongly justifies his mindset (Tsukuyomi eye moon plan). All we knew about him is he had no parents, and the reason he turned evil is because of Rin, the girl that never returned the love back. Pretty ridiculous for an antagonist backstory. Its nothing compared to Sasuke, Nagato, and Madara.

Furthermore, his backstory doesn't reflect properly on his development. That is why he is extremely poorly written character.

Madara, Sasuke, Naruto, Nagato, Orochimaru, Danzo, Tobirama, Hashirama, Kakashi, Itachi, and many more have more depth than he does.

It needed to be said. Then he goes and gets TNJ'd by Naruto at the end like wow...

Obito was not evil because of Rin.

The reason Obito turned evil was the situation that Rin was in. If a system can do something like that, you Destroy that system. That is how things work.

Rin is at best, a Mascot.

After starting a war, killing 40,000 people, and causing damage, he got TNJ because of Rin's wishes. Obito is a clown and joke.

There is no such thing as best written character. Some characters have a bitter past than others, but that doesn't mean their character is better.
