When it comes to sport anime, it's not about the sport. I know it sounds weird but it really isn't. I remember being skeptical about watching Eyeshield 21 because it was American Football but ****ing hell, it was amazing, one of the best sports series to date, no doubt. Anyways, I'm digressing, my point is that because it is shounen, the matches show a lot of exaggeration so it makes the fights really intense so you won't really feel like you're watching "real" boxing. Also, the character development is amazing, makes you fall in love with the characters. I could go on, but I won't.

Yea, I can't stand watching it in real life. lol. I was actually like you, didn't want to watch any sports anime besides that of football/soccer and tennis since those were literally the only sports I was interested in. But, opened my eyes and series that I wouldn't have ever touched became some of my favourites. Narrative plays a huge part in diverging an anime version to its real life counter part alongside the "twists" which create dramatic tension.

@Delicious Salad @ Chibi , Yeah it's true & lol it is fun , but not interested on the anime , I only watch sport animes if I'm into the sport , like The Knight in the Area & such , I was also thinking of giving the volleyball anime a try since I really like that sport too ._.)

Urgh, it's similar to tennis, so I'd watch it since I whole-heartedly love tennis manga/anime. Also, it's badass how they play so quickly back and forth irl, maybe they can add a supernatural twist to it somewhat like Kuroko No Basket. .-. And omg, Area no Kishi, so gewd. ;-; And by the volleyball anime, you mean Haikyuu? That's actually quite good, having read the manga.

I was always a fan of boxing so I wanted to watch the anime because of that, but it was so much more than that. Great action, comedy and character development. Something in it for everyone. Give it a shot. Or at least watch this:
