Mistake for Gai to use 8 Gates

In my opinion, I think it was bad for Gai to use 8 Gates at this time. I think we should have been shown the 8 Gates some other time. Dont get me wrong the 8 Gates is an awesome technique but now one of two things will happen. Either Madara shows his true power making Gai basically using 8 Gates for nothing OR Gai does critical damage with his final technique leaving Naruto and Sasuke to fight some half beaten, not at full strength Madara and we all know that wont be an awesome fight.. what do you guys think

Now seemed the right time to use it. Nothing else was working and the main stars were taking a nap. They needed a play for time to reveve those two and the only capable of creating that diversion effectively is 8th Inner Gate Gai.

I think the timing was actually okay here. Besides, all the damage Gai is inflicting on Madara is just going to be healed by Hashi's Sage Mode.

I respectfully disagree with the statement in bold. I think Maddy is actually trying, but Gai is just too fast at the moment. Maddy is tough and can take the damage though, this is why he is enjoying the fight. Because it actually is challenging to him. But Maddy will catch on to Gai's movements sooner or later and thanks to his Sharingan he will be able to aniticpate the movement. Then I think he will start tagging him with Rinnegan techs and such. either that or he is just holding out until he can find an opportunity to get his other eye back. Whichever. I

Again, I think Maddy is trying, but I also belive he is holding back the lion's share of his power simply out of pride.

If it wasn't used in this fight, we'd honestly never see it or have a good reason to. It's timing is perfect and it's an amazing way for Guy to go out.

Plus the only other opportunity we'd have to have seen it was when he fought Kisame, or MAYBE when they fought Obito and the tailed beast.

This was guys only option. He had to do this in order to buy time for the rest of them and do his best to try and beat Madara at the same time. A fitting end for a hero.

Sadly, Madara will heal.
On the other hand, Naruto as the Juubi should be able to bring Guy back via plot no jutsu

Guy opened the 8th gate not to try and defeat Madara, but to protect Kakashi, Lee, Gaara and buy time for Obito and Sakura. There was no other way with Naruto's life hanging in the balance.

I am sad that Gai will die, but it was the only choice they have to buy enough time until Naruto and Sasuke come back.
We know only strong Taijutsu and Senjutsu worked against Jubis Jin.
