I've been noticing a trend where when a certain character is on the losing side of a debate that the people arguing for said losing character result to saying either their character is in or out of character or their opponent's character is in or out of character, and they think this is a valid argument.

To end all RANDOM, LAST RESORT use of this argument, it is my opinion that people posting VS threads should try to specify if the character(s) are in character or not in the opening post.

By actually using this specification, taking into account whether or not a character is "in-character" would actually make a viable and not random, last resort argument.

Tell me if you agree and share your thoughts.

PIS/CIS is off by default unless stated otherwise.

I know but I just think if it was specified explicitly, people couldn't make the excuse "it wasn't stated that they were in/out of character, so I'm just gonna say my/their character is in/out of character as an argument"

110% Agree.

The characters should be in character unless stated otherwise, you basically take away how the character fights when taking them out of character.

If Kakuzu vs Kakashi was made after Asuma died but before Kakashi fights him, people would be saying Kamui snipe gg Kakuzu. Guess what, Kakashi never used Kamui in that fight, he admits at the very end he was going to use it once his heart was about to be ripped out.

The other one that really grinds my gears is EMS Madara. People say "PS Stomps". Ummm Gaara and Naruto would have beaten EMS Madara if he didn't have Rinnegan, because he toyed around and didn't use PS.
