Gai; it seems I'll have to use the night moth

Kakashi 'Gai has just about reached his limit' has a flashback of Naruto 'I'll do whatever I can to save my friends' he also remembers himself saying the same thing in the past. He starts weaving an unknown seal "Naruto, thank you for being my student". Then he jumps beside Gai.
Gai, Minato, Lee and Madara:?!
Gai: "Kakashi?"
Kakashi: "don't worry Gai, this time around, I am not backing you up".
Everyone:?!
Kakashi: "it's a challenge Gai to see who deals the most damage to Madara"
Gai: (speechless) ..."My rival"
Kakashi: "don't slack up Gai, this is not just a challenge, ...this is our last challenge. Oodama Kuroi-Raikiri"
Gai: "yes my dear rival, let's show them the power of our youth, ...Night moth!"

Why would the same happen at the end of this one?
