If Juubi Jin Madra was serious, he would end Gai with a powerful Rinnigan tech.
Notice, Gai is the one sweating, and gasping. Madara is bleeding, but is happy, and joking around. If it were an actually threatening fight, he wouldnt be laughing. If he were really in pain, he would show it. Also, he can auto heal, being the juubi Jin.
Remember, Gai is getting help from Gaara, Rock Lee, Minato, and Kakashi as well, he isnt doing it alone.

Im not saying madara can not kill him and or is not better than him, the argument is that Madara could crush him, but this is clearly not the case. Guy is putting up more of a fight than we have seen in anyone else, and he is injuring madara badly.

We saw this with Hashirama too, he enjoys the challenge - fighting someone that can challenge him. His Uchiha blood is boiling. Do I think he's holding back? While we can't say for sure as most of their battle has been off-panel it's likely he has... but not as much as Madara fanboys would like to believe. The eighth gate has been hyped since Part 1, it's strong and it CAN compete with Madara, and we haven't even seen its strongest move yet...

We'll probably see something like Madara in a death-like situation, he's knows he'll die if the attack hits but Gai collapses first, just before Night Moth hits.
