in episode 338 on naruto when itachi told a little history about the izangi of the uchiha clan to sasuke how come they were so obsess with the izinagi? they say "as long as i have the izinagi by my side you cant kill me"? i dont get it once they use it they cant use it again

Unless in the moment that Izanagi is active, they not only re-write their injuries away, but also re-write the one time limit.

That's what I'd do, and make it so my Sharingan doesn't get sealed.

I would have thought any person with a brain would opt for that.

that's why Sasuke used genjutsu to make Danzo think the eyes on his arm were closing before they actually closed. Danzo could still use 1 eye for multiple Izanagi as long as it was still activated. Once it runs out it is sealed forever.
