SM Naruto < MS Sauce ?!

Naruto seems to admit in the flashback that SM isn't enough to take down Mangekyou Sasuke. He knew from that point Sasuke was connected to his own inner chakra? I mean why didn't he say anything when Sasuke appeared then? This seems to be a bit inconsistent.

Sasuke is the new Sage?

Moreover, did Hagoromo just choose Sasuke over Naruto as his successor? He says "I choose you, Indra's successor" and Naruto get's the TB powers as an upgrade. I think this will give Naruto some new mode other than BM, probably a Juubi mode. I think Sasuke obviously gets Rinnegan or some Hagoromo upgrades.

Naruto doesn't seem to be the chosen successor here after all. Is Sasuke the actual child of the prophecy?

Will Hinata die?

Unfortunately I have to think that at this point Hinata is going to die. Hagoromo mommy had Byagukan and EMS/MS, so that suggests that she had some power greater than even Rinnegan... to "enhance" Sharingan. I'm guessing Madara will get these eyes maybe. Sort of sad, since it'd troll Neji's death hardcore.

That's not how I read page 14 and 15. Naruto was just getting the TB power. I don't think Naruto's getting Rinnegan or any Hagoromo-related upgrades..

No you're not reading it right. Naruto could have beaten sasuke there because sasuke was blind. So naruto not being able to fight him meant that he could sense their connection.

Wouldn't say really compare SM Naruto and MS Sasuke, I think this was meant to show Naruto had a hunch that there was even a deeper connection than he knew. Indra would have just been reborn in a future generation if he killed Sasuke and the "feud" would continue again.
And he had every chance to do it, think a moment of Futon: Rasengan instead of Rasengan against Chidori.

This was likely meant to show that the Sage wants to entrust the future to "Ashura" and "Indra" like it should have been always.


We don't know enough about Kaguya to determine if it has any impact on Hinata's fate. The whole unknown origins of the Sage's mother could also be a plot device to set up a follow up series, much like DBZ.

He didn't say the successor of himself. He is simply referring to Sasuke as the true incarnation of Indra.

Naruto kind of could sence Indra's inside Sasuke.
He understood that even by defeating Sasuke, one day Indra would take someone else body and everything would happen again.

Even not knowing about the brothers Naruto could feel that defeating Sasuke was not the answer, not what he was looking for.
