Think about it, why would Pain go so dirty and destroy the village instead of fighting Tsunade 1v1? It's because Nagato planned to have Tsunade exhaust all her chakra. That way Tsunade aka the only person who can legitimately defeat him, is out of the picture so she won't ruin his plans.

like seriously, he went to the extent that he started calling himself a God? and that his ideals were absolute, him being 'Scared' of anyone is just absurd to me...

I doubt he was afraid of her. He killed Jiraya with half of his pains.

However I must say, pain was not thinking logically, he attacked the village and interrogated people who did not know where Naruto was. He should have been smart enough to know he could head straight for Tsunade. But he didn't he fooled around and went to Tsunade at the end when she was almost exhausted.

And then only attempted to take her out after she was out of chakra. So nice theory that he proabably did not want to have to risk losing some pains to another sannin if he potentially had to captture Naruto.

But if he had gone to her in the start she still woulda gotten spanked in the end,
