It wasn't Hashirama's dna, it was the chakra, not even his chakra, Ashura's.

So without Ashura or Indra no one could do sh!t, which isn't logical to say either since it never disappears (their chakra)

I like to use white zetsu as example, as we know white zetsu has create using Hashirama DNA and this DNA contain/carry Hashirama chakra nature which it mean Earth & Water elements. Remember, white zetsu turn to a tree after been hit by KCM Naruto... this is proof, Hashiram Mokuton (earth + water) react to KCM Naruto Ashura Chakra - Life Force.... mean Hashirama Mokuton contain of Earth + Water elements + Life force Ashura Chakra...
