Firstly, I believe we all owe an apology to Hinata/Hyuga/Byakugan fans. People were going in hard when she tripped on that rock, and how useless Kishi made the Byakugan in the second part. But Kishi trolled us as usual so we should apologize. Now let's begin!

The Byakugan are the natural eyes of Kaguya.

The Byakugan are also the opposite of the Sharingan. The Sharingan, as in the picture above are used to manipulate and control people. The fundamental purpose of the Sharingan is to make another bend to your will. In the post below the Sage speaks of his mother's "method". Meaning totalitarian control. From the previous panel we know the Sharingan was used to help her achieve said control.

The Byakugan can be said to be the opposite of this. It cannot be used to manipulate and control others, its very essence as the real eyes of Kaguya through which she sees, seems to carry a positive connotation. In my opinion, as the real her which she lost after her power corrupted her, and thus made her rely on her Sharingan.

Since the beginning of Naruto we have seen how the Sharingan has had vast power, enough to start wars, and have brother kill brother (I know Madara didn't kill Izuna, I meant it in general about the Uchiha). I'm too lazy to look for exact manga panels, but some of these pictures will suffice.

Meaning that the Sharingan has been a corrupting influence. One for which not only those without it fight for, but even those with it (to unlock the stronger levels of it).

In fact re-read the first panel of the first page I posted. Madara is attempting to reach the power Kaguya had, BUT the corrupted one (the "demon" she became with the use of the Sharingan). Not the real Kaguya, what she was before she became corrupted!

On the contrary this phenomenon doesn't plague the users of the Byakugan. In fact the Hyuga have gone so far as to divide into Main and Side branches to protect the "secret of the Byakugan".

Now we also know that the Byakugan has greater "insight, and vision" then the Sharingan (manga panel below). But I believe this panel has more to it than a simple literal meaning. In my opinion the Byakugan's ability to see deeper into a person is a fundamental part of Ninshuu. The force that allows others to "look into one another, and better understand each other" (I'm combining what Jiraiya and the Sage said).

Now we also know that Hinata has a special relation to Naruto. But not only that we've seen the Hyuga's give themselves for him twice. First Hinata (vs. Pain), and second Neji (vs. Obito). Now some might state this is simple love and whatnot, but things with Kishi are never that easy.

In my opinion, the Hyuga and the Byakugan are descendants of the Sage's other brother. Who himself or with his mother will visit Hinata to have her unlock the true powers of her eyes (he may or may not also visit Ten-Ten to talk about the tools, but we'll leave that for another day). The sage failed because he attempted to bring peace to this world alone, he forgot the other half, his brother, who is fundamental in helping this dream be realized.

The Byakugan will then work in tandem with Naruto's theory to use friendship to bring peace to this world. Power must not rest in one person, because if it does it corrupts them, and the cycle beings anew. This is also why Sasuke and Naruto being equal is relevant. Opposing forces balance one another BUT yet lead to perpetual war. This is where the Byakugan will show its true power and help people finally understand one another, and end the cycle of war and hatred forever.

I believe the panel of the Sage telling Sasuke how he's always ignored Indra is a foreshadowing of how he has ignored his own brother, and to take it further how we have all ignored the Byakugan!

Thank for Reading! Hope you enjoyed it =D (Hiruzen 5 Leggo)

Agree with your theory now all we have to do is wait and see,of course next week we will see Gai and Madara and some other stuff but eventually Hinata will get to see Kaguya. :)

I meant base as in before corruption. Also when the Sage talks about her in the previous chapter coming to eat the fruit her eyes already seems to possess the Byakugan. Also I'm not saying she had or didn't have the Sharingan before or after she ate the fruit, I meant that she began using it more after becoming corrupted.

No Kaguya has 2 byakugan eyes and the third eye looks similar to a rinnegan(10 tails eye) and it was stated the third eye possess The Sharingan's Power. Besides there is no sharingan with more than 3 tomoe.

Yea she ate the fruit, got the byagukan and sharigan, then wanted more power.

Before she ate the fruit she had no chakra, meaning Byagukan wouldn't be her natural eyes

It was stated that she had no chakra before she ate the fruit. The byakugan is a technique that utilizes chakra flow to the eyes. So as of now your theory is debunked.

Read my above answer. I meant natural eyes as in the one she SEES through. Not debating Pre or Post fruit happenings. I'm saying that the Byakugan are her natural eyes that she sees through, while the Sharingan is an eye within her forehead through which she controlled people and relied on after becoming corrupted.

This corruption was not instant after eating the fruit. It happened overtime.

See my answer above. I didn't mean natural in how you're conceiving it.

Your not understanding what I'm saying. The byakugan could not have been her natural eyes. You said she contained them before she ate the fruit. It's stated that the fruit gave her chakra. The byakugan uses chakra flow to the eyes, and if before she ate the fruit, she didn't have chakra, then how could she have an eye that's technique utilizes chakra flow to it in order for it to use its abilities. The theory makes no sense.

Interesting read, but I strongly disagree. Byakugan does enable to manipulate oneself, but it also manipulates the body of the enemy through gentle fist.

Byuakugan- the manipulator of the enemy's body

sharingan- the manipulator the the enemy's mind.

This ruined most of the thread for me.
Learning the ''real secrets'' of the Byakugan is cool, but i disagree that it should it a power up, the Byakugan has never really been about strength in the first place.

Besides, i don't think that it's really fit for Hinata, even though she is from the main branch she hasn't gotten proper development in part 2 (same goes for pretty much everyone from the k11).

well it's not clear whether or not she had the byakugan before she ate the fruit, it's a possibility she did though. the sharingan can be seen as a corruption of sorts because the power it wields makes power hungry individuals usually. i mean it took kaguya who wanted peace and turned her into the demon that everyone feared.

Your not understanding what I'm saying.

Nah bro I understood you perfectly. You misunderstood my use of the word base, I never meant it as her having it before eating the fruit (though maybe she did who knows with Kishi). What I meant was that they are the eyes which she sees the world through (and have no relation to manipulation, "true" meaning her non-corrupted self), while the Sharingan is just an eye in her forehead that she uses to control people.

LOLnope. Like the others said, no chakra = no byakugan.

See above

Naaah bro, the Byagukan isn't going to progress any further.

Power wise you are partially-correct. Its progression will be related to helping people link to one another.

This ruined most of the thread for me.

I agree man, you misunderstood me, see above. I meant that the true power of the Byakugan is in regards to its ability to see the inner self and help people understand one another.

i mean it took kaguya who wanted peace and turned her into the demon that everyone feared.

Thanks man, I feel as if you are one of the few who actually understood me =D

Interesting read, but I strongly disagree.

I mean it can be used as an offensive weapon, but it cannot delude or corrupt someones mind (people weren't killing each other for the Byakugan, and the Byakugan also doesn't have a power up by killing your most loved one). On the contrary it has the ability to see into the "inner-self" of a person, and thus in my opinion being linked to Ninshuu.
