So Madara lost indra's chakra which went to Sasuke and eventually Sasuke as the new Indra will surpass him. So, it's a dead end for Madara because Sasuke is the one who would benefit from Indra who left Madara as the sage stated. Did I get it wrong?

I know what you mean, but this chapter showed that it isn't that way. Madara is still aiming for his plan, even though Indra's chakra has long left him. So, it wasn't Indra who developed the moon's eye plan, corrupted Obito etc, it was always Madara.

And Sasuke decided to join forces with Naruto, something Indra probably never would have done.

So, the characters are still the same individual personalities they ever were, they aren't just Ashura and Indra with different bodies...
