I think it was something similar. Except where Naruto thought of his friends, Sasuke might have thought of Itachi, or maybe even Taka as he did when he fought Killer Bee when he first used Amaterasu. He probably told the Sage how he wants to become a true Kage.

Actually, he couldve. Remember what Sage said, he shunned Indra and thats what led him to become what he was. If he said "no" to Sasuke, Naruto the series wouldve been all for nothing. Sasuke wouldve ended up just like Indra, because the Sage didnt trust him AGAIN.

Yeah. Sasuke could've very well lied to Rikudo to gain his power and fight Naruto later, which I wouldn't mind. But I just don't think he evil anymore.

I think, Sasuke answered like Indra since he has his chakra. The sage would also give him his powers since Sasuke reminds him of his other son. The difference is that Naruto and Sasuke are friends which makes the difference between them and the Originals/Madara & Hashirama. I also believe they either get both the Rinnegan (both chakras are needed to get it) and a So6p mode OR some kind of full potential of their ancestors like Naruto complete Sage mode and able to mold every chakra type (fire, water,...) and Sasuke perfect Susano with new yet unknown abilities..
