New chapter somewhat confirms this. But Kaguya had both.
So we can somewhat assume that she had the Byakugan from birth..
Making the Hyuga clan the oldest confirmed clan in Naruto universe

And when stealing the fruit she develop her third eye, 3 tomoe/Sharigan from God Tree/Jubbi

Which means Kyuga with Bykugan + Sharigan made
Hagoromo/Rinnegan which in turn started the true
Sharigan clam with Indra

Hyuuga/Uchiha/Senju were the oldests clan until now. Doujutsus are manifestations of chakra (the thing about the special chakra sprout from brains told by Tobirama is the fact that matters), so Kaguya was not born with these doujutsus. These doujutsus manifested after she ate the fruit.

Indra never had that swirly rinnegan, I think it's Kishi's way of portraing how things get changed, confused, diluted and wrong with time as it goes by. Even harashima said to madara.. " how do I not remember of the god tree juubi " ( when madara told him the story of how the juubi come to be ). He said " Time ". So I think the swirly rinnegan was just something that got shared by word and then put to paper, with it's obvious contradictions and confusion, as word of mouths tend to be from one to one.

Kaguya had also the power of the Sharingan. But in a separate eye. These fact alone doesn't match with your thesis. Think about it:

Kaguya had two sons. One with the power of Jūbis eye, but no connection to the Byakugan. According to Mendel, properties can be inherited differently.
So why shoudn't have the brother a byakugan?

Kishi makes up those things as the story goes on he obviously don't care with Hyuuga I bet he just included that to ease tension of the Hyuuga fans or may be somebody gave him a death treat so he was forced to do it!!!

Maybe he only carries the trait.. Nothing about the brother is confirmed.. Also going off of naruto logic (Sage - Indra/Ashura) it's possible to not inherit traits

Butt-hurt,whats the matter even with manga proof from Kishimoto you guys still deny it. Kaguya had 2 byakugan eyes and a extra sharingan eye.

I'm amazed that it hasn't even occurred to most people that the So6P's brother might have been then Hyuuga clans ancestor.

Lets look at the facts:

1: Kaguya has an unknown version of the Sharingan in her forehead and two normal looking Byakugan eyes.

2: The So6P has the Rinnegan.

3: Ashura's chakra (ancestor of the senju and Uzumaki) and Indra's chakra (ancestor of the Uchiha clan) combined together makes the Rinnegan. (Nothing at all to do with the Byakugan)

4: Indra has shown no indication of having the Byakugan, just only the sharingan.

5: There has been no actual fact that the Uchiha descended from the Hyuuga clan, only what Kakashi said. And even then, he said it was only rumors.

Since there is so little we know about the other brother of the So6P, It's just too hard to not think that he may have been the ancestor of the Hyuuga clan.

Kimmimaro clan was also called the Kaguya Clan. I'm guessing the Sage's brother was an ancestor of that group along with the Hyuuga.

I think byakugan has a relation with that brother of sage , he must have had it because kaguya's powers got separated between two brothers and that gave birth to two different eye techniques in their children .

That doesn't make Hyuuga the oldest clan, it just makes Byakugan the oldest doujutsu. Who knows when the actual clan was founded.

Rikudo (Rinnegan) + Brother (Byakugan) = Kayuya (Normal Byakugan + 3hird Juubi-like Sharingan eye)
