Alright, I was looking at some Naruto match-ups, more specifically Naruto VS Sasuke without the sharingan, kyuubi and what-not, so i was wandering; does Naruto use his own chakra to make clones, because it was said that he has about four times Kakashi reserves, and Kakashi can only sustain one for a period of time.
Narutospams the jutsu almost every episode, i never really understood his bunshin art, is it his chakra or does he unconsciously use Kurama's chakra to make them, i understand that he also has a lot of stamina but i feel like there's something i'm missing here:(, explanation would be much appreciated.

Kurama is to Naruto what water is to a human.

This^^^ If he's not covered by red chakra or taking an appearance change similar to Karuma (EX: Whiskers getting thicker) then it's his own chakra.

Then how come he can spam so many clones? like in the Gaara fight, i believe he was using his own chakra when he did the Uzumaki Barrage.

He's really good at it. It's kinda his thing.

Kurama's "red" chakra constantly refills Naruto's reserves. In essence, "red" chakra slowly becomes "blue" chakra over time and if not abused.

I believe it is because the uzumaki have large chakra pools.

I guess that makes sense

I really doubt Uzumaki chakra pools can sustain over a thousand clones

bc the training that he did with jiraya was for him to perfect his control of chakra.

I logged in to give my 2cents. I am not an expert, but i have read the manga. I think in the beginning he could not create a lot because he had poor chakra control. Naruto has A lot of chakra w/o the fox however (the 4th's son and uzumaki). Over time throughout the manga characters "seem" to get more and more chakra, Since Naruto is getting older, and with the help of kurama he can create clones beyond counting and keep them up. However without kurama he can still create a lot...The number though is unknown and will never be known because you will never see naruto w/o kurama, and when he does use Kage Bushin kishi does not specifiy if he is using kurama's chakra or his own. the only thing we DO know is that naruto has A LOT of chakra, and A TON with kurama. I feel like kishi had a set role for chakra in the beggining, but as the manga progressed and fights got bigger people just seem to have a TON of chakra all the time. i have no idea now that i think about it. Just don't compare P1 with Shippuden
