Naruto- Ashura.. reincarnated into... ME?!
Hagoromo- I sense Ashura's chakra deep within you, although thru the generations, it has become feint.
Naruto looks down at his feet in disbelief.
Hagoromo- I'm sure, throughout the years, you've felt the presence of a different chakra, haven't you?
Naruto- I always assumed it was Kurama's chakra..
Hagoromo- ( Kurama...) I'm not surprised.
Naruto- Huh?
Hagoromo- Kurama is a gentle soul, though he doesn't seem like it. He cared deeply for Ashura, and occasionally, lent him his power.
Hagoromo touches the watery surface with staff, and the ripples form into a scene of the past.
Hagoromo- After I chose Ashura as the successor of Ninshuu, Indra disappeared.
Naruto- ..?
Hagoromo- Although Indra was stronger than his brother alone, he still wasn't powerful enough to take on Ashura, with Kurama's assistance, and so he went off in search of new powers.
Naruto- Where did he go to?
Hagoromo- After my mother died, the only people in the world who possessed chakra were me, my sons, and my brother. He had no where to go, except to my brother, who like Indra, desired power.
Naruto- ...
Hagoromo- During our battle with the Juubi, my brother volunteered himself to become the vessel for the Juubi, but...
Naruto looks up at Hagoromo.
Hagoromo- Knowing my brother's true intentions, I wasn't going to allow it, and sealed it inside myself instead, infuriating my brother.
Hagoromo- He wanted to use his chakra for evil, he wanted to take over the world, by following in the footsteps of our mother..
Naruto- Your mother..?
Hagoromo- My mother ruled over her land with an iron fist, her power maintained peace, but through fear, not love.
Naruto-...
Hagoromo- Indra went to my brother and asked that he teach him, in the art that still lingers to this day, Ninjutsu.
Naruto- Ninjutsu?!
Hagoromo- As I said before, my ninshuu was made for hope, while my brother's ninjutsu was made for war.
Hagoromo- During his time with my brother, Indra became very attached to him, he loved him, he cared for him, all for the sake of power.
Naruto- what do you mean?
Hagoromo- Indra was unsure if he could kill his brother, not because he wasn't powerful enough, but because he though his heart wouldn't allow it, and so he used my brother, as a test subject.
Naruto- (scratching his head) Wait, there's a test?
Hagoromo- No.. Indra wanted to see if he could still kill someone who was close to him, and so, he connected deeply with my brother....
Hagoromo- Only to one day ...... Kill him.
Naruto- So he killed his uncle just to see if he could?!
Hagoromo- No, he killed him to see if he could kill his brother.. however..
Hagoromo- After killing my brother, who he cared deeply for, Indra's eyes.. changed.
Naruto- What do you mean?
Hagoromo- They became exponentially more powerful, unlocking techniques that even compared to Kurama's power.. which is what Indra was after..
Hagoromo- It became known throughout the land as the eye that amplifies evil... The Mangekyou Sharingan.
