Doubt it. Itachi is no match for Madz, but I don't think he would be stupid enough to even face Madara. He'd know that and not even want to fight him. He'd probably just be on the sidelines helping Shikamaru think of a plan. But I do agree that participating in this war would have hurt Itachi's reputation.

ot: It's better that he's not in the war and Kishi's not bringing him back. U_U
