Whats weird about what the sage said is the he hoped naruto didnot act like his predecessor-- So, whoever he spoke with before- seemingly didnot share his ideals.

-I wonder if it would be a interesting twist if Madara Uchiha was Ashura's last reincarnation. It would make another parallel between naruto and " the villain he could have become" that we have seen with every other villain in the manga.

Remember- Madara Uchiha was always beneath hashimara, he wasnot as gifted as hashimara. However after a century he finally obtained power above what hashimara had.--

All the dead Jinchuriki's would be my guess he was referring too. Would make sense given they all seemed to know what they were doing when having their tailed beasts bump fist's with naruto in jinchuriki world.

I don't think he met anyone recently, otherwise he would've already known how to talk to Naruto in the first place. Madara/Hashirama don't talk like he was first talking, they talk like Naruto does now, so why wouldn't the sage know how to speak already if it was only a generation past when he met another reincarnate?

well, saying "i also believe madara to be indra's last incarnation" in response to someone saying they think that he is Ashura's previous incarnation doesnt make sense.

But, what if Orochimaru is Indra's incarnation? He was stated to be a genius since birth, and has dedicated his life (and the lives of his vessels) to the knowledge of jutsu, so he has more power at his disposal...


But Madara being Ashura's incarnation before Naruto would be a huge twist that could happen. Unexpected because he is an Uchiha, but still possible.


OT: SO6P came way way way way before the current time. He probably met people we dont even know about. But he probably met with the sage animals and the incarnations of his sons through out time.

It was likely someone between the sage's generation and Madara's generation. It can't be anyone we know in the manga, or they would have mentioned it. So it was likely someone that never had influence on the current manga characters, someone before Madara's generation.
