Yeah, but Gaara killed many of his villagers. Sasuke killed a dictator kage, saved the SA along with Oro and the kages, helped defeat Kabuto and Obito, killed Deidara, and is hopefully going to help fight madara.

While he most definately is not the savior of the world, he is definintely going to be respected and loved by a lot of people, while the other half want him dead.
