I don't see how Gaara has any difficulty whatsoever in this match. None of Neji's attacks are capable of reaching Gaara, while Gaara can easily swamp Neji in a desert of sand.

This isn't a desert.

Gaara can turn the terrain into a desert if he wants to. Even part 1 Gaara could turn an open grassy plain into a sizable dessert. Current Gaara should be able to make a massive one if the need arises.
