It's highly doubtful that this anime is going to be cancelled any-time soon.
It's the most popular Anime in all of Japan, they earn tons of money in Merchandise alone. You don't shut down your big flag-ship without a good reason.
Heck.. I wouldn't be all to surprised if the show just went on after the Manga has ended, making spin offs and whats not, like Dragon Ball, because MONEY!

Ehh, that one I find kind of doubtful.
As One Piece all-ready is such a large production that any attempt to straight up remake it would feel redundant, also, any attempt to tell ALL of it again, would require hundreds and hundreds of episodes.. really.
I guess their version of it is just to make those fancy TV Specials that are in truth just abridged versions of previous archs.
Man. "Story for Merry." has been out for like half a year and yet no one has put subtitles on it yet for some reason.. really odd.
But oh well, if you all-ready seen the arch you don't need subtitles for it really, it's the exact same thing over again.
Except, trying to put ALL of the Enies Lobby arch down in a two hour special is just... there was no way to turn that into any coherent narrative, it's to crowded.
But damn it! it looks nice, and it's so nice seeing some of those fights in better animation. Plus the very ending.. Oh that was beautiful! Loved it!
In case you havn't seen the TV-Special for you, allow me to spoil it for you.
The framing device is that post time-skip, Usopp, Chopper and Brook is out making a routine check with "Mini Merry." sailing her a bit around.
Brook questions the name of "Mini Merry." and asks why the ship has a number 2 painted on it, and then Usopp tells the story about the original Merry, plus of course, what happened in Enies Lobby.
As Usopp's story finish, and every-body whom heard it is done crying, they head back to Sunny.
Usopp stands around smiling a bit sadly, before suddenly.. the Camera shifts to a view of the mast, down at Sunny so you see the deck, and there sitting on the mast is.. MERRY! the way Usopp saw him repearing the ship, looking down at them smiling, the laughs softly.
Usopp stops, blinks, look behind himself and up at the mast, Merry is gone.
Luffy calls for Usopp, and Usopp turns back to Luffy laughing and runs to join the others, looking really happy, camera pans back up, we hear Merrys soft laughter.. the end...
OH GOD THE FEELS! Bwahahaha! :NO:
I loved that last scene, entire special.. totally worth it just for that.

Also, if you really need to make a spin off, of One Piece..
Huh.. we got quite a lot of possibilities actually!
They could do. "Shanks adventures!" that's about how he started out his journey. You could make. "Sogeking king of snipers." as a complete spin off, taking place in a different univers, merely using same character designs and voices, you could make
"Buggy and Bon Clay, idiots on a rampage." (I love BonBon-Sama, but he is not exactly to smart is he?)
One Piece is just such a rich univers filled with so many rich and funny characters that you can kind of just pick ANY of them and go with with it.. easy peacy.
