*Important* EDIT 2: According to Viz only the Sage sealed it inside of him, so unfortunately the Half Juubi theory is now null.

BUT
the remainder theory of the Brother's purpose for sealing techniques still stands. (Anything in blue you can ignore, so mainly just one spoiler tag)

EDIT: I fixed the Kurama scan reminding him of the Rikudo
Hello.
First I want to go back to the point where Minato was about to use the RDS on the Kyuubi.
Minato decided that he would seal half in himself and half in Naruto; aside from the Child of Prophecy reasons why you ask?
Because sealing the entire Kyuubi was physically and conceptually overall an impossible task.

(Needless to say, if it can't be done with the Kyuubi then it certainly is impossible with the Juubi.)
General Point Here: Sealing the Juubi away permanently/forever is not possible.

(Ignore most of this spoiler tag here)
Next, the Juubi was sealed into Both Rikudo and his brother.

Now even if it was possible to seal the Juubi completely into one being, that would not be smart and the Rikudo did not want that.
Why?
His goal was to prevent the Juubi's complete awakening since that would signal the end of the world.

But he knew that the Juubi's chakra (like Kyuubi) was too massive and evil that he couldn't continue to have the Juubi be sealed as a jinchuuriki.

So he split it into the bijuu and sealed the Gedo Mazo into the moon.
BUT he only split the Juubi that was inside of him.

So in order to assure this would never happen, the Sage had half sealed into his brother as a safeguard.
The Rikudo knew that even if someone (like Madara) was able to revive the Juubi, the world would not end for the remaining half would still be kept safe.
Why do you think the Brother wasn't mentioned in the myths? Surely the man who helped defeat the Juubi would become a god-like figure as did his brother:

The answer?
Because it was meant to be a secret.

This is where the brother's role comes in.
The brother secret purpose became:
  • to help pass down the Jinchuuriki sealing technique so that the Bijuu could be controlled

Now here is where it conjoins with my other theory (in sig and )
  • The brother realized that keeping this a secret was impossible in a lifetime.
  • So he decided he would have his descendants carry this on for him.
But of course his descendants would have to become a clan enhanced in sealing techniques....so the Uzumaki!
This is not strange considering that Naruto's tetragram seal that was based off the Uzumaki clan's sealing techniques reminded Kurama of the Rikudo.

General Summary:
  1. Sealing the entire Juubi away permanently was impossible
  2. Brother had important role in helping with the Sealing techniques
  3. Brother made it his goal to pass down the sealing techniques (specifically Jinchuuriki)
(I still advise you read the actual theory instead of just the summary to actually understand my points in detail)
Thank you, Vega

Agreed. Great theory.
Thank you Magatsu izanagi!
Or just a mistranslation.
Possible but *********** also had the same phrase I think. And it would be impossible to seal the Juubi into Hagoromo alone (unless Kishi wants to disregard logic)
Nice theory, could be possible
Thank you SilverAssassin!
Nice theoryb bro
Thank you Born Sinner!
I would say that you're thinking too deeply, but if anything, it does seem plausible.
lol my bad, I might've overthinked some things

Theory sucks balls
I liked it, not bad, plausible too
lol you had me there for a moment.

Idd it is a nice theory! :)
Thank you roncato

I totally agree. Nice theory.
Glad to see you agree!

It is very nicely done . Not bad .
Thanks -Klad-! I am still new in making theories but I hope to improve over time

Great theory. Where do you think the other half is now?
Thank you Snape Uchiha! lol good question, it is in Kishi's butt JUST KIDDING, I believe that the Rikudo may have the answer and possibly even tell Naruto the location/method of obtaining it, he does say he wants to "entrust" something to Naruto and merely telling history of the Uchiha/Senju won't help him against Madara. If I were to guess a location that would have relevance, perhaps the destroyed Uzumaki village or Bijuu Temple.

this makes perfect sense
Thank you power!
I agree with your theory, good analyzation
Thanks for the feeback Boogaloo
I agree with this. Very nicely put!
Genrou!!:) I am glad you agree

Yo nice theory. I think same. That sage's bro was not mentioned in tablet to keep half jubbi secret. Or he did some evil things and turned on sage.

Hmmm, doubt it.

This is Obito sealing more than half of the entire Jubi, Madara comfortably sealed an even greater portion, almost 100%.

Next, the Juubi was sealed into Both Rikudo and his brother.

@Red: There is a flaw. If this is so, then how is it that the complete Jubi and Shinju currently exists with only the portion which Hagoromo sealed within himself [the Mazou and chakra used to form the Biju] being in play? Naturally, it would be impossible to get 100% Jubi out of 50% of it's original material. I disagree to this as well. The rest of your theory is plausible but we'll see if it is validated or not.
