What are the ideological statements made by Hagaromo's brother with his staff?

It seems to take the form of almost cross like formation with a small protrusion at the top and bell like shapes on the cross bar.

I confess not to know much about Japanese mythos or Buddhist religion so if someone could answer this question I would be quite pleased :3.

Link to his ONLY image is here:

Kishi never picks something out for no reason. Everything has a meaning when he draws it. And the brother's staff must make an ideological stand point apparent just as Hagaromo's Samsara rings/broken circle does.

This could give us a clue on what the truth might be.

It's the same weapon as the ones the fodder soliders were using behind the image of Ashura

I think another interesting note is the fact that both the sage, his brother (at least it looks like he's wearing a scabbard), and his two sons were both using swords. I doubt it has too much extra meaning but pretty cool nonetheless.

It appears to be a war staff :

Kl thank you, I'm guessing a "war staff" is exactly what it says on the tin. Its a weapon of war little more.

Hmm I suppose I'm trying to read into things more than are needed.

The Shakujo is a staff of peace, the other of war. Yin and Yang?
